Use Social Media to promote your website

The social media can be used as a great Marketing tool to promote your website and to increase business sales.

To start,  first pick you niche and do some research.  Explore in Google how many people search for the keywords and products related to this niche.  Go to Google keywords tools (type these 3 words in the search window and go to the first website listed on the screen).   Find keywords which have a lot of searches  but are not yet saturated with a lot of websites so that the competition is minimal.

To find a product to sell in your niche – sign up for one of the affiliate networks – like PepperJam Network, Commission Junction, Amazon, Clixgalore, Clickbank,  or create your own information product or service,  like a downloadable  ebook or a video to sell.

Next create your presence in social media – open an accounts with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Digg or Myspace.  The account should have the name and your personal information directly related to the niche you want to promote.   The accounts will be related to your website and promote the products you sell.

Now you need to create a website,  to do this first register with one of the webhosting providers you find on this site, they are all reliable companies with very good record of support and service they provide for many years,  otherwise they would not be in this business.  Include a keyword related to your niche in your domain name. You can build your website yourself by using the software provided with your hosting,  or outsource it to a professional company (search for website building services).

Once you have the website up and running,  and your products to sell or affiliate links to promote,  use the social media to promote them. Post links on Facebook and Twitter with information about your niche to direct buyers and interested people to view your products.

It is really up to you how many accounts you use and how aggressively you promote on social media.  Remember one thing,  that social media is also about communication,  getting people together, fun and entertainment,  so do not tweet about selling products all the time.  Tell your friends about yourself,  what you do and how you spend your free time,  the more interesting your profile,  the more people will join you and read what you have to say,  this is the key.
