How to choose affiliate program to promote

With such large number of affiliate programs on the internet, everyone wants to promote the best offers. The question is how to chose a good one and not to waste your money on advertising the bad.

There are some points to consider when you make your choices:

1. Look for a product not promoted through ClickBank program, as majority of these are already heavily promoted.  Do your research and look for something that not everyone is already selling.
2. Look for product which offers at least 10% commission otherwise your advertising costs will not even cover the commission you earned.  You can find commissions even as high as 50%.
3. Look for higher priced products  to maximise your commission – 10% of  $50 product will only pay you $5 in commission, while 10% of  $500 product will give you $50 in commission for the same effort.
4. Look for Multiple income stream in the product – products which offer various levels of upgrades from lower, cheaper  product, to more advanced product or software at a higher level.
5. Look for recurring income models – products like memberships, seminars, multiple upgrades.
6. Promote products with a value – if the educational value of a product is not high,  there will be no demand for it and a lot of refunds from disappointed customers.
7. Check if there is product support included,   otherwise you may receive a lot of requests for more information or help from customers.   Look for  FAQ,  forums,  email and phone support  on the product’s  websites where customers can turn for help instead of contacting you.
8. Check if product’s website offers multiple payment methods and if they are secure payment sites.   A lot of customers chose now to pay by Pay pal as more secure method rather than using credit card.
